讲座内容：

 This presentation explores how AI tools, particularly Diffit, MagicSchool, Suno, and Google NotebookLM, can support language instructors in terms of content creation. Participants will also learn how to use AI across different stages of material development, from generating ideas and content to organizing them within a structured framework. The presenter will also share some research results from a recent study on comparing human-audio and GenAI audio for listening comprehension, addressing some key questions about the authenticity and reliability of AI-generated content and demonstrate strategies for balancing AI-generated insights with human expertise. Participants will leave with practical techniques for developing engaging, adaptable, and pedagogically sound materials for enhancing teaching.

主讲人简介：

 Dr. Mingyu Sun received her Ph.D. degree in Computational Linguistics and MS degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University. Dr. Sun’s main professional interest is in integrating instructional technology to assist language instruction (e.g. blended/online course curriculum redesign, CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning), and open educational material development). Her recent research interests are GenAI-enhanced language learning, second language acquisition with technology and game-based learning. She has served as the director of the Language Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (UWM) since 2008. Dr. Sun has been supervising a LCTL (Less Commonly Taught Languages) research project supported by the Title VI National Resource Center grant from the U.S. Department of Education to provide digital supplementary teaching and learning materials for the LCTL languages (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese and Russian). She also serves as President of the Midwest Association of Language Learning Technology.
